Watch Us Wednesday - Blackboard Stock Paper Teacher Card

Hey Friends,

Today, it's my turn to spotlight a product over on The Kraft Journal Blog which is hosted by The Kraft Outlet.  As you saw from the blog title, I am featuring Blackboard Stock Paper. I have used it on several projects before.

When I think Blackboard, Teacher comes to mind. Teacher Appreciation week is coming up next week, so I thought I would share a card when the chalkboard technique is used.
I started with a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock. I then added a top layer of Blackboard Stock Paper which I embossed with an ABC embossing folder. To get the "chalky" look, I used a paper towel and a pigment white ink pad and rubbed it across the panel.

For the sentiment, I stamped the Thanks in Versa Mark Ink and heat set with White Embossing Powder. I followed by stamping it again in White Pigment ink slightly to heat set to give a chalk board effect. Last, I just used the paper towel again to smudge some ink onto the board. I took a white watercolor pencil and finished it of by drawing a few lines around the sentiment.

The Easel was cut from Brown Kraft Cover Weight Cardstock and then embossed in a woodgrain embossing folder to give a realistic feel. The same technique was used for the banner stamped for the year which are hung with Natural Hemp Cord. For a decorative touch, a tab created from Ruler Ribbon was used and anchored with a red button and treated with Natural Hemp Cord. I had a bit of red lace trim which I added to the top of the card to tie in a bit more color.

I hope you enjoyed this card today using Blackboard Stock Paper.

The Kraft Journal #169 Pinterest Inspired

Hello!

I hope you are getting your week off to a great one. It's time for our new weekly challenge at The Kraft Journal. For today's "Pinterest Inspired" challenge, I went with some inspiring words!

Here is my card:
Here is what inspired me:
I started by stamping feathers from the Precious Remembrance stamp DIY Stamp Set in pastel colors onto a white cardstock panel with distressed edges. At the bottom, I stamped the forward moving arrows in aqua ink. I die-cut a piece of Vintage Dictionary Paper into a row of scallops randomly stamping a paint splatter in pink ink. Just above the scallop trim, I added a row of pink felt stars next wrapping Pink Baker's Twine around the card several times.

I stamped an inspirational sentiment on a white tag which I anchored with Hand Stained Lilac Lace Bias Tape dressed up with a Custom Fastener and snippets of Vintage Dictionary Paper.

After my focal panel was complete, I added it to a white cardstock base with distressed edges using foam mounting tape.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your Pinterest Inspired creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Have a wonderful day!

#1 Teacher

Hello!
{For my DeNami Design post click here}

I have the honor of being the Paper Sweeties monthly designer for April!

So today, I thought I would bring you Emma

The So Proud of You set is perfect for those Teacher Appreciation cards and I had fun dressing her up in the outfit that comes with that set. I used two memo pins to hold the sentiments which were stamped in white ink on blackboard paper to create a chalkboard effect.
I enjoy making school themed cards and projects and Paper Sweeties has one of the cutest sets!

So here's cutie little Emma from Paper Sweeties.  She is wearing a sweet little gown from the Some Bunny Loves you set (which is on sale right now) Emma is stamped on a journaling die from My Creative Time.
I added a length of seam binding around the card front and tied in a fussy bow adding a button and twine.  Some Tuti-Fruiti Sequins were scattered and added for a fun little touch of glam.

Make It Monday with The Kraft Journal - Rain

Good Monday Morning to you!

This week at The Kraft Journal we have a new challenge for you, and it's Rain, You know what they say, April Showers bring May Flowers, so I thought that was fitting for the challenge this week, and had the perfect sentiment for just that! Sometimes rain and cloudy days can make you feel a little gloomy, so I used some bright and happy colors! :-)))
 I started out using a card base of Brown Kraft Cover Weight.  I layered a piece of Buff Ivory cardstock to a piece of patterned paper adding a scallop edge to the Buff Ivory. Next I gathered a length of Strawberry Shortcake Bias Tape and wrapped it around the card front and tied in a fussy bow adding a prima green paper flower and pink button to the center.
I purchased a Rain and Cloud file from the Silhouette Store by Lisa Norris of Pretty Paper and Pretty Ribbon a while back which came in handy for today's challenge. :-) I added a sentiment to the cloud from Paper Sweeties: Spring is Here. Sophie is also from Paper Sweeties as well as her coordinated die-cut and her raincoat outfit is from the same set as the sentiment: Spring is Here.

Please be sure to head over to the The Kraft Journal to check out the projects by the other talented ladies.  We hope to see your rain creations in the gallery this week for your chance to be featured on our "Feature me Friday" post as well as be entered to win a $15.00 gift voucher from The Kraft Outlet store.

Since we are on the subject of Spring Flowers! I thought I would share with you some photos from our trip into DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival.

How about one of the White House?

DeNami Salon Chickies Congrats Card

Last week I shared a bright and colorful card on the DeNami blog showcasing Salon Chickies.  I thought it would be cute to make a card to be given to someone graduating Cosmetology School. We don't want to forget about them as we start thinking about graduations.

Wouldn't this be darling?  I used a sentiment from the Thoughtful Greetings Stamp set. The yellow cardstock is embossed using a Chevron Embossing FolderA length of aqua and green ribbon was added to the left side of the card front which was embellished with a Lucky Green Boutique Button. A few sequins were added to complete the embellishing touches.

I am going to share at Simon Says Stamp: Winged Things, Just B Creative - April Linky Party.

That's it for me today.

Happy Stamping!

DeNami April - Inspired by

{It's my 2nd post of the day, for my Paper Sweeties Release Rewind Celebrate Your Day Click here}
{It's a bright and happy card :-)))}

It's time for our third Inspired by installment at DeNami Design today. Can you believe it?  If you are not familiar with the feature you can read about it here as well as submit your work for a chance to have it highlighted.

Today we are featuring Barb as our April Inspired by Artist. Her card was chosen and presented to the DeNami Design Team for this month's inspiration. It's easy to see why.

Below is the card I created in which I carried the feel of Barb's card, but wanted to carry out my own design.
I started by stamping the Pansy Spring on a White Panel Cardstock which I used Copic markers to add color. Following a cue, from the inspired by card, I partially stamped the Teeny Heart Background in Gray ink over the stamped images. I then covered the panel in vellum cardstock.  I stamped and embossed the Love Flourish sentiment on the vellum panel which you can see below.
I die-cut a tag from patterned paper and stamped butterflies from the Fancy Flutter Set adding a few enamel dots to the tag has Barb as done. I added a 3/4 pink grosgrain ribbon finishing off with some Twine from the Confetti Pack.
Please be sure to check out our Inspired by Card!

 Stop by to see my teammates to see how they were inspired as well!

Paper Sweeties April Release Day

Hey there!

Well we've come to the April Paper Sweeties release day. All the new items are available in the store as you read this. :-))).  I'm here to share another project using Happy Everything. As you can see, I have jumped way ahead, or I am way behind. :-) How about a Thanksgiving card?  I may be the only one on the DT showcasing those holidays that are a wee bit down the road, so yes, you are in the right place!
 I created a fun little turkey using the Create A Critter Cricut Cartridge, fall papers, and a gingham bow and voila a sweet little Thanksgiving card.
The Happy Everything Set has so many possibilities and uses. As I have shown here with the release, you can use this set in conjunction with various die-cuts, but works perfectly as it's on focal point for whatever celebration you are highlighting.

I'm happy you could visit with me today. Please join my teammates for the Paper Sweeties release blog hop!
